Western Australia '10

This blog was created months ago to chronicle my training and lead-up to my very first Ironman triathlon. It took place on December 5, 2010 in Busselton, Western Australia. The transition from recreational athlete to focused triathlete was a long one; my posts on the subject would probably fill a fairly thick tome, but after nine long months of training, the Big Day finally came.

After writing volumes on the smaller races, training rides and miscellaneous equipment decisions that led to this fateful day, I owe it to myself to chronicle the race itself with as much excruciating detail as I can possibly pull out of the recesses of my brain. It might be long, but it should be: it's one of my greatest achievements, one of my proudest moments and the culmination of almost a year of my life.

Please read on, and enjoy!
