Wrapper Update!

As you probably already know, I am collecting silver-lined snack bar wrappers for a contest. It's pretty simple: I have between now and the end of July to collect as many wrappers as I can. Terracycle will recycle each wrapper I submit, and donate two cents to a local charity to boot. BONUS: If I collect the most wrappers of any Vineman competitor, I win back my entry fee!

I've been collecting for four to six weeks now, and while I haven't yet had time to do an official count, I'm going to go ahead and estimate that I am closing in on the 1,000 wrapper mark!

That, my friends, is a lot of (otherwise non-recycleable) garbage!

If I want to win the contest, though, 1,000 wrappers is nowhere near enough. I still need all the help I can get - from you, from your friends, from your co-workers. Eat a bar. Save the wrapper. See your friend Stephanie eating a bar? Save her wrapper, too. Put 'em in a small bag, and when that bag starts to overflow, clue me in and I will pick 'em up!

(I also find that flattening wrappers under large books works wonders.)

Some time between now and July, I will either grab all of your wrappers from you personally (provided you live within cycling-distance of my apartment) or pay for the postage required to mail them my way!

Two things before I let you get back to your wrapper collecting:
  1. Only silver-lined BAR wrappers count. If it's silver inside, and it previously contained some kind of square or rectangular pseudo-baked good, I WANT. Empty gel wrappers don't count. Neither do Shot Blok wrappers, or bar wrappers that are clear. Don't save those for me!
  2. I'm also trying my hand at Clif Bar's Meet The Moment contest. What the hay, right? Vote up my submission by clicking the thumbs-up here.
Okay, that's all I've got for you today. See you on the road this weekend!
